Anything Wild and Perrennial, which is not too invasive (Aiyaiyai Mint!) is a good thing in my book

Las Vegas - Trip Planning Resources
It will be "cool" but for us it will be warm, consider hiking and horseback riding.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
OK
here is the scoop, we are going to book for Jan 9 to Jan 12, 3
nights. We are pulling the trigger to get the ball rolling.
Paris
is selected, it is cool by itself, and in a great location, fairly cheap, free
parking, possibly a view of the Bellagio Fountain show which is above world
class.
$259
per person, double occupancy, Include airfare, and 3 nights stay (we went last
January and it was really the deal, not a scam)
They do charge for internet wifi $15 per night – but then
that might be included in the Resort Fee, see below
Free wifi in some public areas
Free parking
Resort fee 35.84 per night per room [not per person]
(includes internet access—how does that work?, Fitness center, phone calls)
Scroll all the way down for some pictures.
I have a friend in Vegas,
who will take us hiking to Red Rock Canyon which is near his house and they
used to do a lot of hiking. Its 30 minutes from the Strip, so
car or car pooling will be necessary. We will have a car
Hiking on
the 11th, the second full day. Time TBD
We can also set a few
other “activities” getting a bunch of people all moving and organized is like
herding cats, so my thought is to set a time and place to meet, for say a
dinner at all you can eat Sushi, meet at Paris
lobby at 6:30 PM on Tuesday the 10th if you want to
go. We did 2 Sushi all you can eats for around $25 each, and
they were very good/excellent quality.
We could also do the High Roller massive Ferris wheel, or Effel
tower. Or a Circ show. The best deals are
had by going to one of the many “ticket liquidators” that sell out non sold out
shows for cheap, that day. Again, not a scam, a real deal.
Or an off road guided Jeep
tour – I have emailed them to enquire about price – 4 different tour areas,
around 4.5 hours for the Red Rock tour
Also this “Valley of Fire”
park comes highly recommended, about 45 minutes from Vegas. Looks like a
$10 fee, not sure
Also, on our schedule, Dim
Sum lunch at a great restaurant, KJ Dim Sum & Seafood (at the Rio),
Tuesday, 11:00 AM, meet at Paris Lobby at 11:00AM
You could even do a 1 hour
horseback ride through Red Rock Canyon, includes transportation, $120
Here is a collage of Red Rock Canyon pictures, its pretty
amazingly good.
