In the interest of science, methinks the truly dedicated shall attend said Pig Roast and then stay up all night to watch the Perseid Meteor Shower Aug 11, and Aug 12 right before dawn will be the best.

It will be a crescent moon on the 10th to 12th range, so viewing will be great, UP TO 60 meteors per hour. We will also set up the Celestron C8 SGT XLT which is a beast of a Scope. See moon pix below.
